Since 1990, Huangshan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China's major tourist destinations. Huangshan is easily accessed from cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou and Wuhu via train and air. Xidi Village (西遞村), is located at the foot of Huangshan, around 50 kilometers from the Huangshan city center, 20 kilometers from the famous Huangshan tourist attractions. There are 122 old dwellings built in the Ming and Qing dynasties can be found in Xidi Village. Further down Xidi Village, you will find Hong Village (宏村) and Tunxi Ancient Street. The street is about 1500m long with 2 rows of shops and stores on both sides. All the houses were built with bricks and wood in a typical local architectural style. North Sea Scenic Area (北海景區) is another interesting tourist attraction which you do not want to miss. Lion Peak (獅子峰), Begin-to-believe Peak (始信峰), and the Cloud-dispelling Pavilion (排雲亭), Flying-over Rock (飛來石), the Bright Summit Peak (光明頂), Lotus Peak (蓮花峰), Cloud Ladder (百步雲梯), Guest-greeting Pine Tree (迎客松) and Jade Screen Pavilion (玉屏峰).
