Pingjiang Lodge
is
conveniently located in the city centre of Suzhou, a famous
water town in southeastern part of China.
It takes about 1.5 hours drive to Shanghai Hongqiao
airport, 2 hours drive to Shanghai Pudong airport, 3 hours to
Hangzhou and Nanjing respectively. Here,
you can experience yourself up close to the “Xiao Qiao, Lou
Shui, Ren Jia” (literally means “small bridges, flowing
waters, residences”), a typical description of the landscape
and classical aura of Suzhou.
Pingjiang
Lodge allows
easy access to different sightseeing spots such as classical
gardens and former residences of ancient celebrities.
To the east are the old houses of Suzhou residents; to
the south is one of the UNESCO Heritage Sites –
Master-of-Nets Garden; to the west is the famous Guan Qian
Street; and to the North is another UNESCO Heritage Site –
the Humble Administrator’s Garden.
It takes only a few minutes’ walk from the Lodge to the Kunqu Museum
and Pingtan Museum respectively.

Suzhou
is a historical city in China. Some people call it the "Venice
in the Orient" because of the canals, stone bridges and the
environment in which the local people live. Suzhou gardens are
the symbol of
the buildings in Jiangnan. They are famous for their lakes
and hills which are skillfully organized to form beautiful
gardens. The traditional specialties in Suzhou are jasmine tea,
Su-taste cakes, sandal fans, Song brocade, lacquer ware,
silk embroidery
and drawn work.

The Humble Administrator's Garden
The Humble Administrator's Garden, located at the northeast
street of Suzhou City, is the biggest garden of Suzhou City,
which has won the fame of "Reputed Garden in the South
of China" and "Cream Among the Gardens".
It takes 10mins drive from the Lodge.
- The
Lion Grove Garden
The Lion Grove Garden lies along the Suzhou Garden Boulevard.
It takes 10 minutes drive from our Lodge. There are strange
stones resembling lions in the garden, hence the Lion
Grove Garden,
famous for its artificial hills accumulated by the exquisite
and skillfully shaped stones from the Tai Lake.
- Lingering
Garden
Lingering Garden covers an area of 23,310 square meters,
is the best garden in Suzhou as well as being one of the
four most famous gardens in China. It is renowned for the
artistic way in which the spaces between various kinds of
architectural forms are dealt with.
- Hanshan
Temple
Hanshan Temple is located in Fengqiao town outside the Suzhou
city. It was constructed in the Jiannian Reign of the Liang
Dynasty (502-519) with a history of over 1400 years. The
legend says in the Zhenguan Reign of the Tang Dynasty, the
famous monks Hanshan and Shide came here from the Tiantai
Mountain to conduct prayer services, hence the name of the
Temple. It takes about 30 minutes drive from the Lodge.
The surrounding
in vicinity is full of local restaurants, ethnic shops
as well as street peddlers that offer a variety of interesting
things to do while staying at our lodge. For
