  Golden Autumn Tiger Hill Temple Fair Kicks off in Suzhou
 
[2012-9-5] Situated at the northwest of the ancient Suzhou city, Tiger Hill is a well-known scenic spot of Jiangsu Province with a long history over 2,500 years. Legend has it that during theSpring and Autumn Period, Fu Chai, the King of Wu, buried his father on a hill. Three days after the funeral, a white tiger was spotted atop that particular hill. Thus, the hill was named “Tiger Hill” afterward. Golden Autumn Tiger Hill Temple Fair is an influential traditional cultural festival in Suzhou, scheduled to be held from September to October every year, which showcases the Suzhou traditional folk features with various cultural performances. This year, Tiger Hill Temple Fair will be held from 29 September to 21OctoberPerformances will be staged in the morning and afternoon, including Fu Lu Shou (3 Chinese figures representing happiness, wealth, and longevity respectively) parade, dragon and lion dance, and traditional Chinese operas.
 
Apart from visiting Tiger Hill, you can also seize the opportunity to explore the gorgeous Suzhou classical gardens which are inscribed as World Heritage by UNESCO, such as the Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden and Lion Grove, and experience the essence of the art of Jiangnangarden.
