Itinerary Two 6 Days Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou & Shanghai Tour (MU)

Hong Kong – NanjingApprox. 2.5 hours flight
Take a flight to Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province and a cultural and communication centre of the region. It is also known as Jinling (Golden Mausoleum) and is the famous ancient city with a history of more than 2,500 years in China. Nanjing was also a capital city of different dynasties such as Wu, Jin, Song and Ming dynasties.  Visit the Confucius Temple, which lies on the north bank of Qinhuai River and was built in the early 11th century. Onward to Qinhuai River, a tributary of the Yangzi River flowing through the city from west to east. It has fostered numerous beautiful sights and sounds, poems and stories in southern China.

2. Nanjing - HangzhouCoach
In the morning visit the Xuanwu Lake which is situated at the foot of Zhongshan Hill. It was the place for emperors of six different dynasties to hunt and have their navy trained. By the end of Qing Dynasty, it was turned into a park.  Onward to the  Ming Emperors Tomb and the Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. After lunch, visit the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders which used to be one of the execution grounds and mass burial places of the cruel holocaust.  Then drive directly to Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province. It has glamorous scenery and so it is praised “the heavenly paradise is up in the sky. On earth, we have Suzhou & Hangzhou”.

3. HangzhouCoach
Visit the General Yue Fei’s Temple & Tomb which was built to memorize a famous general in Southern Song dynasty. Then you will cruise around the West Lake to view the fantastic scenery such as the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, the Baidi & Sudi causeways, and Solitary Hill. In the afternoon, you will visit one of the ten most famous Buddhist temples in China, Lingyin Temple. Then visit the Peak Flying-From-Afar which is a pure limestone mountain dotted with rock niches where various stone statues sit, stand, sleep, or laugh silently.

4. Hangzhou – SuzhouCoach
Travel to Wuzhen, the “Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal” goes through the town. It has more than 1,300-year history and still remains “Water Town” with traditional style. Then drive to Suzhou, a historical city famous for rivers, bridges, hills and the classical gardens. It is also known as "Venice of the Orient". Visit the Master-of-Nets Garden which is a masterpiece of classical residential garden. The architectural device of the embankment along the pond is the most successful one among Suzhou gardens. After dinner, shop for your favourite souvenirs at Guan Qian Street.

5. SuzhouCoach
Visit one of the World Heritage sites, the Humble Administrator’s Garden which is the biggest garden in Suzhou city. It has won the name of "Reputed Garden in the South of China". Onward to the Lion Grove Garden which is famous for its artificial hills accumulated by the exquisite and skillfully shaped stones from the Tai Lake. After lunch, visit the No.1 historical monument in the Wu region - Tiger Hill. It was a favourite place for poets, writers and painters in ancient time. Then visit the Hanshan Temple, constructed in the Jiannian Reign of the Liang Dynasty (502-519 A.D.) and with a history of 1,400 years.

6. Suzhou – ShanghaiCoach
Shanghai – Hong Kong
                           Approx. 2.5 hours flight
Drive to Shanghai, a booming metropolis and a business, entertainment, and cultural centre in China. Enjoy city tour to the Bund, the former foreign settlement, ranged along with imposing buildings of the colonial period. Then visit the Yuyuan Garden which was constructed in the period of Emperor Jiajing's Reign of Ming Dynasty in 1559 and completed in 1577. It has a history of more than 400 years. Onward to the Old Town. After lunch, get an insight into this fast growing city by visiting Xintiandi, an urban attraction imbued with the city's history. Take an evening flight back to Hong Kong.
